Sometimes (but just sometimes) I wish we used the English names in Swedish as well. This geometrid moth which is trying to camouflage itself as bird droppings is known in the tounge of Shakespeare as the purple bar (Cosmorhoe ocellata).
The Swedish name sticks closer to the scientific (ocellata) with a reference to the eye markings on the fore wings - but the English one is cooler!
