Lady of the Cross - _TNY_8230S2
The European garden spider (Araneus diadematus) like this rather large female is a spider with a wide distribution.
Originally European, it managed to get a foothold in eastern North America and has spread so much that there have been specimens found in Mexico City.
As with many invertebrates, there are multiple common names for the same species so this one is also known as diadem spider (A "diadematus", y'know), crowned orbweaver, cross spider, orangie, cross orbweaver and a bunch of variations on those.
This particular specimen was found a couple of hundred meters from my house in Västerhaninge, just south of Stockholm, Sweden, building a web between a couple of reeds of grass.
This is two images with different focus stacked into one using Zerene Stacker.
