Cutest Speck of Dirt - _TNY_1204
So I was washing my car and when wiping it dry afterwards, I noticed some small piece of dirt and was about to wipe it away when I noticed it had legs! It turned out that this ~1-1.5 mm (measure that with your fingers now!) little something actually was a Rhinoncus castor weevil!
After spending some time in a small plastic container while I finished wiping the car down, I let it out in the garden and actually got several useable shots of it which surprised me given its minute size.
This capture is at 3.7:1 magnification using the Canon MP-E65 mm lens.
