Butterfly Magnet, Pt. 4 - _TNY_7110

The purple eastern coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is a brilliant addition to the garden. Not only is the flower gorgeous - it is also a veritable butterfly magnet.

We had dinner at a couple of friends place and they had five of these small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) on their coneflowers - made for a great photo-op.

This angle with the evening light (together with the diffused flash light) came out surprisingly pleasing.
