Not an Insect - _TNY_6502 (In Explore 22/1 2021)
The common woodlouse (Oniscus asellus), like all woodlice, isn't an insect but a crustacean. Just roll one over and you'll see a whole bunch of legs which automatically tells it isn't an insect (all of those have six legs).
This particular one, along with a whole bunch of its friends like to spend the summer nights on a low wall just outside my workplace so I took this shot at the maximum 5:1 magnification using the MP-E65mm, showing some nice detail on the eye.
