Black and Yellow Crane - _TNY_0580

I am not familiar with the species enough to tell what exact species of crane fly this is - but it is one of the members of the Nephrotoma genus. I think the yellow and black colour scheme looks quite snazzy, wouldn't you agree?

 

Besides, does anybody know if the "crane" part of the name is in reference to the lifting machinery or the bird?
