Non-Venomous, Pt. 2 - _TNY_3005

Quite often I see or hear the question "is it venomous?" about a spider when the person instead meant "is it dangerous to humans?" Well, here in Sweden there isn't a single spider that is dangerous to people, but just about any spider still use venom (suitable for bugs and other very very small animals) so you can answer "yes" and give them a little scare before explaining.

Here's a 2.7:1 magnification shot of a female triangle spider (Hyptiotes paradoxus), one of just two (out of ~730) species of spider in Sweden which doesn't use venom to kill its prey.

The name triangle spider has nothing to do with the shape of the abdomen, but instead the shape of the web it makes.
