Reaching the Top, Pt. 2 - _TNY_6134

Just looking at this photo, we can narrow the possible species down to two species, but since only one of them are found in the vicinity of Härnösand, Sweden, we can conclude that this seed-eating ground beetle in fact is an Amara aulica.

 

I found it at the top of a lupine (Lupinus sp.) where it let me take three photos before opening up the elytra and flying off.
