In the Right Place, Pt. 3 - _TNY_8461

This red admiral (Vanessa atalanta) is standing in the sea of pink flowers on an October stonecrop (Hylotelephium sieboldii).

 

The name of the butterfly, "red admiral" can seem a bit odd given that it isn't very red and what's the naval connection? Well, the admiral part is a variation on "admirable" and that it sure is.
