In the Spotlight, Pt. 2 - _TNY_6277

Some names are decidedly better than others. Hearing hairy-eyed syrphus" (Syrphus torvus) really doesn't make me think of beauty, but looking at it sure does.

 

This one is drinking rain water from a flower on the great burnet (Sanguisorba officinalis).
