Multiple Choice - _TNY_6355 (3.7x)

Buprestidae, the jewel beetles, also known as the metallic wood-boring beetles are quite numerous so it isn't that easy telling which species this is. In fact, Buprestidae is one of the largest families of beetles with over 15,500 species described.

This particular one was chilling on a meadow buttercup (Ranunculus acris) and had no issues with me sticking the Canon MP-E65mm in its face - and at 3.7:1 magnification it's pretty close to the face.
