Red Hot - _TNY_7332

This intensly red dragonfly is a male ruddy darter (Sympetrum sanguineum). iIn this species even older females can become reddish - but not as intensly as the males.

 

I saw this one on the bog by lake Lilla Skogssjön in the Svartkällsskogen nature reserve where it was a bit nervous-looking and I can't say I blame him as there were plenty of larger dragonflies patrolling the surroundings
