Northern Part of the Quarry - _TNY_6722S7

Around these parts, granite and gneiss are the dominating mineral, but there are exceptions. At Stora Vika, about half an hour from where I live there is a limestone occurence which has resulted in a (now defunct) quarry.

The change in mineral means a change in flora which in turn means a change in fauna and lots of butterflies otherwise not present nearby.

Me and my son went there a couple of days ago in search of butterflies, but realized we should've brought our stimmin trunks as the quarry now have become a pretty spectacular place to swim.

Will have to wait for the next visit, I suppose.

This is a seven shot panorama of most of the northern side of the quarry stitched together using Kolor Autopano Giga.
