It's a Yellow World, Pt. 2 - _TNY_4735
This common leaf weevil (Phyllobius pyri) had chosen not a leaf, but the super-yellow flower on a dandelion (Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia). Fortunately for me, it tried the old stay-still-to-avoid-detection scheme which worked out just fine for me.
This was shot at 3:1 magnification. For a focus stacked shot of the same specimen shot at 3.7:1 mag, go here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/49961964922/
