Eye of The Tiger - _TNY_8821
Not a reference to the song by Survivor, but the detail on the eye of this green tiger beetle (Cicindela campestris) came out very nice.
From this angle, the metallic purple of the legs and antennae look quite spectacular as well.
These guys (and girls as I believe this is a female) are fast runners and catch their prey by charging it with blistering speed. When cornered or feeling otherwise threatened, their go to move is to open that beautiful elytra up and fly a meter or two away which can be quite frustrating as a macro photographer. This particular one finally allowed me to get close though.
