The Iron Cross - _TNY_7366
The black-and-red-bug (Lygaeus equestris) has a neat name in Swedish. It's called "riddarskinnbagge" or sometimes riddarbagge. The cooler part is "riddar" which means knight and it is called this because the black cross on the back of it resembles the "Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross", or "Ritterkreutz" in German.
No idea what kind of last year's flowers this one was walking around on, but it sure made the red of the bug pop a lot extra.
