In the Center of Attention - _TNY_0980
This pretty bee with those fantastic eyes is an European wool carder bee (Anthidium manicatum).
This is probably my favourite insect and I love finding them. This one is a little bit special for me as I had the Canon MP-E65mm lens on my camera when I spotted it on this pink houseleek (Sempervivum tectorum).
Typically they scare to easy to be able to get as close as 10 cm (4") as that is as far away as is possible to focus with this speciality lens, but this one stayed long enough for me to snap a single shot of it.
