How Nature Says 'Stay Away', Pt. 2 - _TNY_7567

Here's an Asian weaver ant (Oecophylla smaragdina) in Koh Lanta, Thailand doing her best to convey to me to not come any closer.

 

This one was a bit on it’s own on this leaf, but otherwise they are a bit tricky to shoot as they always seem to have a bunch of buddies around and when you lean in to focus on one they won’t hesitate to bite whatever part of you that get close enough.

 

The photo was taken on my trip there in early 2016, but the RAW file was edited just a couple of months ago.
