Moon Hoverfly - _TNY_7369

When I took this photo I figured it was a hoverfly of some sort. On closer inspection however, it turned out to be a little more special though. It is actually one of two species of Eumerus hoverflies (the other species in the genus I can rule out).

This is either a Rural Eumerus (Eumerus strigatus), also called Lunate onion fly or it could be a Garden Eumerus (E. funeralis). In Swedish, the Eumerus genus are known as månblomflugor - moon hoverflies.

These guys are actually a quite common pest - especially on daffodils - but I haven't seen (or at least identified) one before this.
