Pink Fruit - _TNY_2263

This small tree is a Tatar maple (Acer tataricum), specifically the subspecies A. tataricum ginnala which have different leaves compared to the regular Tatar maple.

The winged fruits on the maple are reddish pink in this species and have several names: Maple keys, whirlybirds, polynoses are some I've seen, but I believe the proper name is "samaras".

I shot this toward the setting sun and the bokeh balls came out pretty nice, right?
