Black Lips, Pt. 2 - _TNY_9427

A male black darter/meadowhawk (Sympetrum danae) perched on top of a flower in the garden pond, ready to take off and chase other males away from his territory.

 

This plan failed spectacularly as there were six or eight dragonflies getting it on in and around this pond a little later.
