Blue Means Male - _TNY_0849
Stockholm had a few really warm weeks during the summer of 2019 and spending some of that time at my mother's summer house we obviously went to the beach a lot. Well, in the high grass just above the beach I noticed quite a few of these blue (and white) damselflies, quite often locked in tandem flight when mating so I brought my camera and went hunting.
To me the key when shooting damsels is smooth moves. No sudden changes, but just a constant slow move when you close in on them.
This species is a common bluet (Enallagma cyathigerum) and the intense blue colour means its a male (the females are white instead.)
