Happy Red, Pt. 3 - _TNY_3851

When trying to get closeups of bug (as well as other animals I suppose) you always seem to have to judge the risk of your flash scaring the subjet away against getting so close that you and the lens scare it away.

When the subject isn't scared this means that you end up with a bunch of shots coming gradually closer and most of the time all but the last one get tossed.

Here's one where several of the shots in the "series" worked so there were multiple keepers.

A male red grashawk (Neurothemis fluctuans) giving me a happy smile while sitting on a red button ginger (Costus woodsonii) in the gardens at Mercury Phu Quoc Resort & Villas in Phu Quoc, Vietnam.

This flower has another name, which I think is just beautiful: "scarlet spiral flag" - How about that?
