I am a sucker for the compound eyes with lots of spots on them which some wasps and some bees have.
Not many of those are common where I live, but nomad bees can occasionally be found there.
Getting a close-up of one of those is generally an excercise in futility as they are much more interested in continue patrolling close to the ground in search of a burrow made by some other species of bee which it then will proceed to parasitise.
I spent way too long crawling around on my knees after this one. Each time I was about to get close enough for a shot she took off again and flew for another minute or so with me scrambling to catch up. Finally I managed a shot which I am pleased with though.
