The way the female goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) changes colour is not the instant thing you see with a chameleon or an octopus. It can take more than a day, only changes within a limited range and is somewhat taxing on the spider's resources so they don't do it at a whim.
This one, which I saw on the same heartleaf oxeye (Telekia speciosa) for several days for some reason didn't turn into the same deep yellow hue as the flower, but instead stayed in this greenish hue.
