Natural Cups, pt. 3 - _TNY_6245
When the long-awaited rain came (and went again all too quickly) the hoverflies were all over the great burnet (Sanguisorba officinalis) as the flowers became naturals drinking cups for them.
This is a second shot of a male pied hoverfly (Scaeva pyrastri), also known as the white-clubbed hoverfly.
In Swedish, it's known as the "white glass-winged fly".
