Fuzzy Parasite - _TNY_8568

Much like the bird they take their name from, cuckoo bumblebees, or cuckoo-bees, parasitize others instead of collecting pollen for their offspring themselves which is why those species don't have pollen baskets on their hind legs.

 

This one, gorging itself on the pollen of a dandelion (Taraxacum sect. ruderalia) is a Barbut's cuckoo-bee (Bombus barbutellus).
