A Swedish idiom goes "Kärt barn har många namn" which translates into something like: A dearly loved child has many names. Perhaps that is the reason this Neurothemis tullia dragonfly is known as both the pied paddy skimmer as well as the pied parasol.
Regardless if so, I found this in Phu Quoc Vietnam and must say I really like the white wing markings on the otherwise black wings.
