Finally Sitting Down - _TNY_8921
The orange tip (Anthocharis cardamines) is named so because the male has orange tips on the forewings, but since this one is a female, she lacks those.
For me the real beauty of the species is the mottled green and white underside though so I am equally happy for this one.
You see, these guys really aren't much about staying still. I have followed them around on many occasions to get a photo but they never want to sit still.
This one, however, was quite accomodating and let me get gradually closer - perhaps because the heavy wind made it less fun to fly around.
