Double Favourite - _TNY_7024

When talking favourites, one easily overlooked part is the background. That flower or whatnot that automatically makes your principal subject much more attractive.

For me, one of those is most definitely the purple angelica (Angelica gigas), sometimes known as the Korean Angelica or dangquai.

Not only are the inflorescence spectacular in both size and colour, but also they are a favourite amongst the pollinators as well, attracting many nice subjects who become so busy feeding that they don't mind a guy sticking a huge lens in their face.

This one here is a common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) which was cool with me getting real close with the MP-E65mm lens which is notorious for its short working distance.
