A Head Made Out of Eyes - _TNY_6972
Hybotidae is a family of flies which used to be a subfamily of Empididae, but has since then been made into its own family.
They are still called dance flies though - just like Empididae does. In Swedish, these are known as "puckeldansflugor" which means humpback dance flies - a not illogical name if you ask me.
Hybotidae generally are around 3 mm in body length and this one was perched on top of a flower ion the great burnet (Sanguisorba officinalis).
