Winter Camo - _TNY_7815 (In Explore 5/4 2019)

The zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) is easily the most common jumping spider around here, but that's far from a problem as they are quite attractive. This one was found indoors in mid-January which has to be considered off-season spider-wise.

The scientific name of the genus, Salticus, is derived from the Latin word for "dancing" (as is the family name Salticidae) and the species name, scenicus, means "theatrical".

Shot using the Canon MP-E65mm at 3x magnification and a Yongnuo YN-24EX twin flash.
