Window Hoverfly - _TNY_5858

One of the larger hoverflies, the pellucid fly (Volucella pellucens), named so because of the light band on the abdomen ("pellucid" means something like transparent). Here in Sweden we similarily call it "window hoverfly".

 

This one is enjoying all the tasty white flowers on a Kashmir false spirea (Sorbaria tomentosa).
