A extreme closeup on the eyes on this female common hawker/sedge darner (Aeshna juncea). She's busy depositing her eggs in the garden pond and after a couple of tries she allowed me to get real close. In fact, I don't think I can get any closer with the 100mm + Raynox DCR-250 and still maintain focus.
