Wool Harvester - _TNY_8880
This is a female European wool-carder bee (Anthiduim manicatum).
These guys collect hairs off suitable plants like this house leek (Sempervium tectorum) and use them to build their nests. They are quite territorial and I have a spot of house leeks at my mother-in-law's where they come back to every summer.
All my shots of these guys on houseleeks: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/albums/72157667862870066
