Mrs. Whiteface - _TNY_5389
I posted a male small whiteface (Leucorrhinia dubia) sometimes known as the white-faced darter a little while back and here's his wife, perched similarily on another tree stump just above the water lilies.
If you look at the tree stump, you'll notice an exuvia left there by another dragonfly from when it climbed out of the water and hatched into an adult dragonfly.
Shots taken by lake Långsjön in the Paradiset nature reserve in Huddinge, Sweden.
This is another shot from the first try with the Tamron SP AF 70-300/4-5.6 Di VC lens and to my surprise I got within minimum focusing distance (1.5m - 1:4) of the dragonfly quite easily.
