Blood Parasite, pt. 2 - _TNY_5480
I've just met my first blood bee. This little guy is most likely a bare-saddled blood bee (Sphecodes cf ephippius) climbing from flower to flower on the island of Gällnö in the Stockholm archipelago.
Blood bees lay their eggs in the nest of other bees and the larvae kills the host egg/larvae and feed undisturbed on the stored food supply.
