Model Tryout, pt. 1 - _TNY_7957
Trying out some different flash/diffuser solutions and this common green furrow-bee (Lasioglossum morio) was kind enough to stay still in one place for me.
L. morio is quite a lot smaller than a common honey bee and this was taken using a MP-E65mm at 3.7:1 magnification with a Canon Speedlite 580EX II and the first version of an aluminium diffuser based on one constructed by talented German photographer Flo Dzula. (Go check his work out!)
Part 2 (shot at 5:1 magnification) here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/48638936722/
