Town Meeting! - _TNY_1987

Here I was, closing in on the silver-washed fritillary (Argynnis paphia) which looked so pretty on top of what I believe to be a melancholy thistle (Cirsium helenioides), but it wasn't until I got back home that I saw the rest of the fauna which I had captured in the same shot.

Underneath the flower, there is a Bombus quadricolor cuckoo bumblebee and in the left part of the flower I can see a small white goldenrod crab spider (Mitsumena vatia). Moving right from the spider we can make out eleven(!) small light-brown beetles which I think are Cychramus luteus.

And if that wasn't enough - there is also a Phoridae scuttle fly on one of the blades of grass in the bottom right corner.
