Solomon's Pest Times Two - _TNY_9756

Two Solomon's seal sawflies (Phymatocera aterrima). These guys look pretty beutiful in their oily black colour, but for those of us with Solomon's seal (Polygonatum sp.) growing in our gardens they're no fun at all as they lay their eggs inside the stems and out come lots of hungry grey larvae which devour the leaves.
