Darkest Red - _TNY_1524
A mourning cloak (Nymphalis antiopa) - known as Camberwell beauty in the UK - resting on a rock after spending a lot of energy chasing away others from his territory.
The colors fade after hibernation so this one is more black than red and the yellow band is quite pale but he's still a looker. These guys are powerful fliers and seing two of them go at each other is pretty impressive.
