Masonry in Progress - _TNY_9748
We've gotten some quite unusual guests inside the top lock of our front door. This female red mason bee (Osmia bicornis) has carried lots of mud in its mandibles and constructed chambers for the eggs inside the lock. The next generation will emerge next spring.
The bee entering the keyhole can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/34399280594/
