Size Matters - _TNY_6014P3

My mother-in-law has a lovely garden pond and in it is a small (30x30 cm /1x1') wooden raft with a white railing.

The male black darters/meadowhawks (Sympetrum danae) like to land on it to watch out for other males which need to be scared off.

Looking at shots of this, it's hard to judge the scale of the raling, making the dragonfly (which is a small species) appear gigantic.

This is a three exposure panorama shot with the Tamron 70-300 and stitched together using Kolor Autopano Giga.
