A nursery web spider (Pisaura mirabilis) I met on the lawn. P. mirabilis can vary quite a lot in colour and this is probably one of the prettier ones I've found so far.
The males of this species prepare a silk-wrapped prey as a gift for the female and when she is busy eating this he completes the mating - presumably at significantly less risk of being devoured himself.
