(344) Vulnerable Royal Albatross - [ Ocean At Southern Chile ]
The IUCN classifies this Species as "Vulnerable".
When I first saw this bird at a distance I was hoping for a Wardering Albatross, then this would have been a N.American species and high on my wish list.
Under close examination now I have concluded that this is a Royal Albatross and not a Wardering A. because of the totally white tail. A bit disappointed.
(This species could be further split into Northern and/or Southern Royal Albatross.)
