Palouse Falls _MG_5123_1_2-2
I was in eastern Washington for a concert at The Gorge and decided to visit the Palouse area and see if I could grab some photos. Palouse Falls was on the list of must see places so I stopped to check it out. Since I wanted to catch the evening light, I thought I'd stay that night at the campground nearby. I got the pictures and the next morning as I was driving out of the campground I noticed a bright yellow vehicle with personalized tags that read "OMG ROTFL". I kind of chuckled and filed it away. About a half hour later there was a radio report about a runaway girl from Boise and that she could be in trouble. They gave a description of the vehicle and there was no doubt that the vehicle I had just seen was the one authorities were looking for. I couldn't get cell reception for about 30 minutes and was finally able to dial 911. Shortly after making the call, several police cars and an ambulance sped by in the direction of the falls. I wondered if things had turned out badly and thought about turning around but didn't. Last night when I got home I saw the news reports and was glad to see everything had ended well. Kind of an exciting moment and a little surreal.
