Twist and Shout!...

Polar Bears swim quite a lot and the scientific name maritimus reflects this. And just like a dog, when they emerge from the water they shake themselves dry. I managed to catch this bear with a large halo of water droplets propelled by the bear's vigorous shaking. Its neck was twisting right and left rapidly but the fast shutter speed has frozen the action. Most furry animals shake themselves dry when they get out of water, but the one I remember did not shake was a Cougar. I watched this one on Vancouver Island climb out from the sea and the water just poured off it before it bounded off into the forest: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/6157345626/in/photolist

One final thing, when I used the title I immediately thought of the wonderfully choreographed scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off where he mimed to this song. I've just watched it again and enjoyed it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ZtmBAA_NE
