Green Hairstreak
This was the result of my lunchtime walk today at Denby Dale in West Yorkshire. There is a small colony of Green Hairstreaks that inhabit a bank of bilberry. I managed to photograph this individual perched atop a sprig of Bilberry flowers. The books say they breed on a variety of plants but in the north they seem to live mainly on Bilberry. For those who are interested in settings, this was with a 105mm macro at f8, 1/1250 and ISO 800.
