Croc Concepts
Above is a rejected Killer Croc concept build.
On a suggestion from Blackwolf1110, I started working on a big-build-fig of Killer Croc a few days ago. It was at first more based on the construction style of my Titan Joker, but built in a more bulk manner; however it changed greatly during its build time.
The arms were the first constructed sections and turned out great, giving the appearance of muscle from the various slope bricks. I also created my brick color palette of dark green, sand green, and dark grey; which together formed the perfect colors for the game version of Croc. I was surprisingly able to “finish” this creation with this color scheme, which I feared could not due, since I didn’t think I had enough color specific bricks in my collection to do so. Even so, I am still missing the correct colors of pieces for sections of him; hence the “gold” left placeholder hand. The legs were hard to construct, again using a rare color in my collection, dark orange. They turned out well, which I think is due in part to the silver studs which give detail, but they however have almost no pose-ability, which is a big downside.
I’m not pleased with the head at this point, or the current collar; which itself went through multiple redesigns. Those are disappointments, but the main reason I’m discarding this Croc is because I feel it’s far too big. Standing next to Cash, he’s clearly too large. His scale is not easy to determine from the game, since he seems smaller or larger at different times, however at all times he is never shown this big. I’ll be completely reconstructing him at a scale most likely half of his current height.
It’s a rejected build yes, but I think it’s worth a look, if not for the colors that complement each other so well.
