A while back I conceived a project comprised of a series of large scale paintings, some of which had some sort of connection to "important" art historical projects. In this case I was thinking of Richard Serra's large, steel plate sculptures. As such, the painting this is a study for would perhaps to initially appear to be a large piece of rusted steel leaning against the wall with the image of Temma lying in bed (seen from the back) only emerging slowly.
